SOLD

Wim Rietveld red model 4050 Panama Lamp designed for Gispen, 1953. An exceptional piece of industrial design, this lamp is included in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. In keeping with the De Stijl aesthetic the form of the lamp consists solely of straight lines, a perfect circle and primary colours. The perspex diffuser which is hung on delicate aluminium hooks results in a soft warm light when lit. The red key which is held in place by the switch is used to adjust the bolts when changing the position of the lamp. In excellent original condition with only minor wear consistent with age.
