ANVIA, Netherlands 1950s

A high quality  and exceptionally rare piece of mid century lighting. Designed  by the master of minimal understatement, JJM Hoogervorst for ANVIA of Almelo. The metal stem of the lamp is supported by an elegant arched stand. The joint where the hood meets the stem is double articulated for added maneuverability and is made from solid brass which is quite unusual. The hood has the original push switch to one side of it. In our opinion a perfectly proportioned piece.

The patina to the paint of the hood suggests that it a very early example of his work. The lamp is in good condition considering it’s age with the wear and usage marks expected of a piece this age. There are two slight dents to the side of the hood which bizarrely have come from the inside out.

Height 147cm

Diameter of hood 18cm

Length of hood 22cm
