BLACK AND TAUPE HIGH CABINET
1950s birch cabinet with inlaid doors. Originally painted in a checked pattern on the lines of the inlay. The interior has four large shelves (D38 H19 W82cm), two small shelves (D38 H19 W32cm) and four cutlery/stationary drawers. The pieces has some nice features like brass fittings. Some wear to the paintwork.
After WWII, Braakman was sent to the US to learn about new production processes. Inspired by Eames’ use of bent ply, Braakman returned to develop his laminated birch ply series. This cupboard is in excellent original condition.
